"The Ugly Duckling" puppet theater with the Hermannshof Theater (Wümme)
The ugly duckling hatches out of the egg on a duck farm among all the funny golden ducklings. However, it behaves very differently from what is expected of it. It is bigger, darker and shaggier than the others and asks too many questions. It is pushed away and mocked by its siblings. The neighbor wishes the cat would eat it. Nobody wants the ugly duckling around. So he decides to seek his fortune in the wide world and almost freezes to death in the frozen lake in winter, but when spring arrives, everything appears to him in a completely different light and he is overjoyed to be who he really is.
