Postponed to 09.05.2026: Pomeranian Countryside - Churches in Western Pomerania

Day trip with Florian Krüger and the Society for the Promotion of the Pomeranian State Museum

On the occasion of the past and upcoming anniversary of Bishop Otto von Bamberg's missionary journeys, this day trip focuses on the most tangible evidence of Christianisation in Pomerania: the churches. Often the only remaining architectural evidence of the Middle Ages, these small churches are often overlooked in the midst of today's villages and towns. With this country tour, we want to open a few of their doors and take a look at the Christian origins and old centres of the communities around Greifswald as well as trace the stories of these places. The churches of Levenhagen, Loitz, Görmin, Behrenhoff and Dersekow will be the destinations of the excursion.

Departure 10.00 - return probably 17.30, participation fee subject to change: 75 € with a minimum of 25 participants
