The Road to Yrji
Theatre play and discussion with Mariia Lisovska/Мария Лисовская. (In English language with German surtitles.)
Yrij is a mythical land - a place where there is no winter, no pain, no aggression and no sadness.
"The Road to Yrij" is a poetic journey through memory, identity and hope. The monodrama, based on personal writings, Ukrainian literature and traditional songs, creates a moving collage of experiences and emotions, about war and trauma passed down through generations of women, from grandmother to grandchild.
Mariia Lisovska grew up in Ukraine and now lives in Wrocław, Poland. She has a degree in directing, works as a director and actress and in various areas outside her professional field.
After the performance, at around 6 pm, there will be an opportunity to talk to Mariia Lisovska about the themes of the play.
