Matthias Kneip: Dackel Dackel in Warschau

With his children's book "Dachshund Dachshund in Warsaw", author and Poland expert Matthias Kneip invites readers on an adventurous journey to the neighboring country.

The little dachshund, who everyone just calls "Dachshund", oversleeps the station on the train and suddenly ends up in the middle of Warsaw. There he learns to bark in Polish, meets Malina the cat and sets off with her in search of her missing sister. On their way, the two discover the city, meet new friends - and end up in great danger when the bulldog Burek and his gang turn up.

With humor, charm and exciting insights into Polish culture, the book will delight children, families and schools alike. At the reading, Matthias Kneip will present his work, read selected passages and talk to the audience.

"A lovingly told animal story that lets children experience a German-Polish friendship. Learning to bark Polish is worthwhile!" (Janosch)
