Agrokalypse – Der Tag, an dem das Gensoja kam
Documentary film followed by a discussion with the director
The film "Agrokalypse" takes a penetrating look at the global impact of our consumer behavior - with a particular focus on industrial soy cultivation in Brazil. It shows the serious consequences: massive deforestation and environmental destruction of the rainforest as well as escalating land conflicts - especially with the Guaraní-Kaiowá, the largest indigenous population group in Brazil. Their desperate resistance to land grabbing, environmental destruction and the loss of cultural identity is exemplary of the social costs of our food system.
Agrokalypse makes it clear how closely our way of eating is linked to global justice and sustainable development - and how great our responsibility towards people in the Global South is.
Following the screening, we invite you to a discussion with director Marco Keller.
