Nordischer Klang 2025: Präsentation des Online-Isländischwörterbuchs ISLEX

Nordic Sound 2025: Presentation of the online Icelandic dictionary ISLEX

Last year, the LEXIA dictionary was launched in Vienna. At that time, around 2/3 of the Icelandic source vocabulary had been translated into German. Since then, many more entries have been added. Co-editor Hartmut Mittelstädt - who was a lecturer in Icelandic at the University of Greifswald for almost 30 years - offers an entertaining look behind the scenes: He presents older, existing Icelandic-German dictionaries and goes into the prehistory and creation of LEXIA. The work steps are explained and the already usable part is presented.
