Finissage: Andreas Walther: Yun Shou II - Atmosphäre und Resonanz
Finissage with artist talk in the gallery of the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Zentrum
Andreas Walther occasionally hears from visitors to his exhibitions that they feel a similarity to works by Caspar David Friedrich. Even if such parallels can indeed be identified, it was initially the book Daoist Thinking in German Romanticism by sinologist Günther Debon that brought Walther's work together with the Caspar David Friedrich Center. At the end of his exhibition "Yun Shou II - Atmosphere and Resonance", Markus Lepper (art mediator and curator, Giessen) and Andreas Walther will explore these parallels as well as the references to Daoist culture and philosophy - and their practical and artistic paths of practice.
About the exhibition:
The artist Andreas Walther presents a multifaceted selection of his artistic work. In addition to photographically based works and excerpts from a series of portraits, various objects made of stone, wood, cast bronze, 3D prints and ink drawings will be on display, providing insights into the complexity of his artistic work. The exhibition is thematically linked by the concepts of atmosphere and resonance, which enter into an impressive dialog with each other in Walther's works.
April 12, 2025 - 2:00 p.m.
Admission is free.
