Stadtbibliothek
Die Stadtbibliothek Hans Fallada gehört zu den zentralen öffentlichen Bildungs- und Kultureinrichtungen Greifswalds. Sie befindet sich in zentraler Lage in der Nähe des Marktplatzes, in drei historischen Bürgerhäusern.
Die Hundertjährige - 1897 gegründet - hat sich jung gehalten. Ein modernes Medienangebot an Büchern, Zeitungen, Zeitschriften, Videos, DVD, MC, CDs und CD-ROMs steht allen für die schulische und berufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung und zur Freizeitgestaltung für Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene zur Verfügung.
Katalog-Terminals, CD-ROM-Rechercheplätze und Studienplätze erleichtern den Zugang zu Informationen.
Der Seminarraum, ein Kinderveranstaltungsraum und das Kreuzgewölbe im Hauptgebäude bieten für die unterschiedlichsten Veranstaltungen Platz.
Ausstellungen, Lesungen und Vorträge gehören ebenso zum Bibliotheksprogramm wie ein umfängliches Projekt zur Leseförderung gemeinsam mit Greifswalder Schulen.
1993 erhielt die Stadtbibliothek den Namen des am 21.07.1893 in Greifswald geborenen Schriftstellers Hans Fallada.
