Statement von Simon Tomsett:
Ich stamme ursprünglich aus Großbritannien bzw. Irland und bin außerdem viel durch die USA gereist. Die Fotografie war dabei stets ein wesentlicher Bestandteil meines Selbstverständnisses und meines Verständnisses meiner Umgebung. Nachdem ich zehn Jahre lang in Berlin und zuletzt in Greifswald gelebt habe, entstand dieses Fotoprojekt aus dem Wunsch heraus, die Ost-West-Landschaft zu verstehen, sowie aus einer allgemeinen Faszination für das, was uns als Individuen, Völker und Nationen trennt.

Originally from the U.K/Ireland and having also travelled extensively in the USA, photography has been an integral part of understanding myself and place. Having living in Berlin for ten years and more recently Greifswald, the photo project started from a desire to make sense of the east west landscape and a fascination generally with what divides us, as individuals, peoples and nations.
