This year, the nationwide ‘Türen auf mit der Maus’ open day is being held for the first time in Greifswald, at the Eldenaer Mühle.

How can a tiny grain of cereal be turned into flour – without using any electricity at all? Come along on a discovery tour of our historic post mill! See huge cogwheels, spinning millstones and experience the power of the wind. Grind grain yourself, try out historical equipment and discover the little wonders hidden within a mill that’s almost 500 years old.

Accessibility: Unfortunately, due to its design, the historic post mill is not fully accessible, as the upper levels can only be reached via steep wooden stairs. However, the outdoor area and parts of the exhibition are accessible. We ask parents to let us know about their child’s special needs at the time of booking so that we can cater for them as best we can.
