Hands-on Culture Night on 11 September 2026

Open improv theatre rehearsal (5.00–5.45 pm)
Warm-ups, short scenes created on the spot and unexpected prompts show how improvisation turns theatre into an experience. Anyone who fancies it can join in spontaneously and try out some short exercises; those who prefer to watch can simply enjoy the atmosphere and still take away some inspiration.

Chinese tea ceremony (5.00–5.45 pm and 6.00–6.45 pm)
Experience the tranquil art of tea: in this 45-minute introduction, we’ll open a window onto Chinese tea culture. You’ll discover the significance of water, tea leaves and the vessel, learn traditional techniques and sample a fine tea variety in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Art of Living: Laughter Yoga (6.00–6.45 pm)
Rediscover laughter, conjure up a zest for life and a sense of lightness from within – laughter yoga offers methods that really work. How does it work? Come along and experience it for yourself! You’ll need non-slip socks or indoor trainers.

Meditative Drawing – drop-in session (5.00–8.00 pm)
Let lines and abstract shapes whisk you away on a creative break. Using fineliners on paper, you’ll create patterns – which can be both abstract and representational – in a relaxed atmosphere.

Discover Japan through calligraphy – drop-in session (5.00–8.00 pm)
Come to vhs Greifswald and discover this fascinating country in South-East Asia. Gain an insight into its language and script, culture and art, and let yourself be inspired. Write your own name in Katakana, immerse yourself in its music and, for a brief moment, become part of this country yourself.

Hula Hoop Dance – Performance & Taster Workshop (7–8 pm)
Experience a rousing hula hoop dance performance – full of rhythm, flow and good cheer! Get involved yourself: in a short taster workshop, you’ll learn basic moves and your first tricks, and discover just how much fun dancing with a hoop can be. Hoops will be provided.
