Being a clown means: marvelling, failing bravely and trying again and again.

It means staying curious, exploring problems in a playful way, being open to everything, saying ‘yes’ to the moment and being fully present in the here and now.

As soon as we put on the red nose – the smallest mask in the world – we make space for precisely this energy. Through playful exercises, we invite you to leave everyday life behind, rediscover your love of play, and take a peek behind the clown’s nose.

Together, we’ll explore improvisation, spontaneity and the joy of trying new things. In doing so, adventures both big and small come to light – and we experience how humour, light-heartedness and genuine encounters can open hearts. The aim is to provide an insight into the special work of hospital clowns and to show how a clown’s presence can support people in challenging situations.

The course will take place in the sports hall at Ellernholzstraße 2 in Greifswald; the meeting point is in front of the hospice (as the sports hall is a little harder to find).

The course takes place on Tuesday 8 September 2026 from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

Courses offered by the Vorpommern-Greifswald Adult Education Centre are aimed at people aged 14 and over.
