"Resonances" - Concert by the MV State Youth Choir
Spring concert by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Youth Choir under the direction of Robin Portune, accompanied by Ekaterina Nazarova
The Landesjungendchor M-V sings a wonderfully romantic programme at the end of the spring work phase on the weekend after Whitsun.
Under the direction of Robin Portune, Director of University Music in Rostock, works by Nordic composers such as Knut Nystedt and Kim André Arnesen will be performed for the first time, as well as works by Mendelssohn and Schumann. The arrangements of "Dichterliebe" op. 48 for mixed voices and piano are just as exciting to listen to as "Frühlingsfahrt" op. 45, 2 in the arrangement by Clytus Gottwald. The concert is rounded off with choral works by Eric Whitacre, Gabriel Fauré and Charles Villiers Stanford.
The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Youth Choir was founded in 2011 and has been supported by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Music Council e.V. since 2018, which aims to promote young singers in the state with this project. The state youth choir is intended to be recognised as a select ensemble for young vocal music-making and a representative of the diverse choral landscape in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The young singers, aged 15-26, are looking forward to presenting the new programme they have developed over several rehearsal weekends during the first phase of their work to the public.
Admission to the concert is free, donations are requested!
