A unique manuscript was rediscovered a good 100 years ago: Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber's Rosary Sonatas: a set of three times five sonatas for violins with 15 different string tunings about the mysteries of faith. They are regarded as one of the highlights of European Baroque music. At the Greifswald Bach Week, they will be performed in an unusual version on 7 violins, viola, double bass, organ, harpsichord and baroque harp - and can be experienced in a night and a morning concert. Two "joyful" and the five "painful" mysteries will be performed at night in the Annenkapelle.
A combined ticket can be purchased for this concert and its continuation on Saturday morning.
