Discover, experiment with and create watercolour paintings
Immerse yourself in the world of vibrant colours and gentle gradients! Watercolour painting fascinates with its lightness, transparency and endless creative possibilities.
In this course, you’ll learn the basics step by step and gain your own experience of working with colours, water and brushes. From classic techniques such as wet-on-wet and glazing to playful experiments – we’ll explore the full range of watercolour painting and develop your own artistic ideas. On the one hand, we’ll follow specific instructions; on the other, there’ll be plenty of scope for free and creative expression. The course can be flexibly adapted to suit the interests and needs of the participants. By the end of the course, you’ll have your own collection of watercolour works to take home.
Everyone who fancies giving watercolour painting a go and would like to exchange ideas with others in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere is welcome. No prior experience is required.
Please bring: a watercolour set (watercolours & palette), brushes in various sizes (round and flat brushes), a portfolio (A3–A4), and, if applicable, your own reference images that you’d like to recreate.
The following will be provided: watercolour paper in various sizes, extra paper for sketches and exercises, a limited number of additional watercolour brushes, masking tape, a water container, materials for experimental techniques, and visual and informational resources. A materials fee of 10 euros per person is payable to the course leader
