Storm flood protection: guided tours of the flood barrier in Greifswald
The free guided tour lasts approx. 1.5 hours and is primarily aimed at interested citizens (up to 15 people). During this tour, you will be given an overview of the overall concept of the Greifswald flood protection system and a technical insight into the storm flood protection system. The program also includes a tour of the site to the sliding gate chambers and a visit to the stop log storage area where the inspection gates are located.

Arrival by bike
The easiest way to get to Greifswald is by public transport to the main train station. From here, it's just a 20-minute bike ride along the Stadtwall and the towpath, which runs directly along the south bank of the Ryck, to the barrage.
Arrival by bus and train
You can also take the line 2 public transport bus, which will take you directly from the main train station to the drawbridge in Greifswald-Wieck in just under 25 minutes.
Arriving by car
Another option is to arrive by car. You can park your car in the paid parking lot at the entrance to Greifswald-Wieck. From here it is a 10-minute walk to the barrage.
