The exhibition accompanies the photo artist's book "Rugia", which tells about Rügen and the people of Rügen, about tradition and melancholy, about loss and confidence.

About the artist: Born in Poland in 1963, moved to Germany in 1982. Today she lives in Bonn and on the island of Rügen. She holds a degree in German and a Master of Business Administration. Her photographic eye was trained in master classes by Magnum photographers Steve McCurry and David Alan Harvey, the photographers of Agency VII, as well as Heinz Teufel and Walter Schels, and she has been working as a freelance photographic artist since 2009. Member of the Bundesverband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler (BBK) since 2014.
Appointed to the German Society for Photography (DGPh) in 2019. Participant in the VII Masterclass Berlin 2016/2017 and NES Artist Residency, Skagaströnd/Iceland,
2017. In 2018 she worked as a guest curator for Künstlerhaus Lukas in Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Stiftung Kulturwerk and the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Numerous solo exhibitions in Germany and abroad.
Her photo project about the coastal fishermen of Rügen has won several international awards and the photo book "Born to Fish" was nominated for the German Photo Book Award 2016. In 2016, she was awarded the Rügen Cultural Foundation's sponsorship prize. In 2021, a text and picture book "HERING, AAL UND BEIFANG" was published and in 2023 the photo book "Rugia", which tells about Rügen and the people of Rügen, about tradition and melancholy, about loss and confidence.
