Contemporary painting

The painter Sven Ochsenreither invents pictures. His motifs are "imaginations" in the truest sense of the word - they seem to be born out of ideas, turn things upside down and refer to inner spaces of thought. Like Caspar David Friedrich, he combines various elements to create an open pictorial story. In terms of painting, the pictorial worlds are characterized by a sophisticated interplay of light and shadow, colour fields and contrasts as well as special details.
Sven Ochsenreither studied in Greifswald and has been closely associated with the city and the artistic region ever since. The exhibition presents current works with his diverse pictorial ideas.
