RIMMA PVTS Series Vernissage
The Parisian artist RIMMA introduces her exhibition at the Kulturscheune in the sculpture park in Katzow
PVTS SERIES: This series uses flowers as a metaphor and recalls RIMMA's childhood and Tatar culture.
Through her works, the artist captures a flower - a symbol of strength and simplicity - while deliberately excluding any sense of drama. Her creations, as metamorphoses, reveal childhood memories, like poppies amidst urban collages that illustrate a fleeting life.
The painting creates the illusion of disappearance, plays with perspective and ornamentation and frees space from materiality. The works in this series invite reflection on memory and repetition and open up a journey between remembering and forgetting.

RIMMA (*1986 in Yakutsk, Yakut ASSR) graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod Linguistic University and later studied at the Studio Bercot fashion school in Paris. She worked in the fashion industry for over ten years. Since 2021 she has been developing as a multidisciplinary artist.
Her artistic work draws inspiration from the majestic nature of the Far North, the landscape that shaped her childhood and the Tatar culture that surrounded her from an early age. Memories of vacations in a Tatar village, stories from everyday life, legends and folk tales as well as family stories passed down by her grandparents and parents form the basis of her creativity. Through her art, she strives to preserve her cultural heritage, breathe new life into it and at the same time tell the contemporary reality of her people.
In her creative process, RIMMA delves deep into memories - sometimes tender, sometimes somber - and considers them an integral part of her personal history. She interprets these experiences in her art with sincere authenticity.
