Cinema in the old fire station

Shortly after the fall of the Iron Curtain, New York music journalist Ruth Rothwax, accompanied by her father Edek, travels to Poland to investigate the legacy of her Jewish family. For Edek, a Holocaust survivor, it is the first trip back to the places of his childhood. While Ruth is determined to better understand her parents' traumas, the ever-amused Edek wants to let bygones be bygones. So he sabotages Ruth's plans and causes more than one unintentionally hilarious situation. During this eventful week, the two uncover old family secrets. Love and deep understanding grow out of their fragile relationship.
