Nordischer Klang 2025: Lebenswerte Stadt – 28x Stadtentwicklung in Dänemark

Exhibition opening on 08.05. at 5 pm

Cities need to prepare for the future and become more sustainable. The traveling exhibition of the Royal Danish Embassy shows what a liveable city for all can look like with 28 examples from Denmark. It highlights projects from various cities - including those outside the major metropolitan areas - and supplements these with interviews and films. The exhibition encourages discussion: What makes a city worth living in, and who gets to help shape it? One example is Jan Gehl's urban guerrilla action from 1969, when he created a playground in the Copenhagen suburb of Høje Gladsaxe. Gehl set standards in urban planning and promoted social interaction. Today, Danish architects and urban planners measure themselves against these principles - for example in the development of harbor areas in Svendborg or sustainable projects such as the blue-green garden city of Kokkedal. They are questioning whether it is always necessary to build anew or whether the city can also be left to the people.
