Would you like to learn the craft of carpet weaving? In the style of Pomeranian fishermen's carpets, you will learn how hand-knotted, sheep's wool carpets with maritime motifs are made.

This two-day workshop is the perfect introduction for anyone who not only wants to learn the art of ghiordes knotting, but also how to cover a knotting chair. You will first learn how to knot on prepared knotting chairs by making a 10 x 10 cm rug with a total of 576 knots according to a given pattern, before you start to string your own chair. You will learn how to string the warp, tie the center bar, place the push bar and make the selvedge to prepare the chair for knotting. With this comprehensive knowledge, you will be able to independently knot rugs in various sizes and patterns at the end of the course.

The course takes place at the Heimvolkshochschule (HVHS) Lubmin in the Rügen area with a beautiful sea view. You will receive lunch on site on both days and catering with coffee and cake in the afternoon. The costs for this will be charged to you in the amount of €34.00 by the HVHS Lubmin.

You also have the option of staying overnight at the adult education center and booking breakfast and dinner. The following prices apply for a possible overnight stay and the bookable meals at the HVHS Lubmin:
