In this workshop, you will learn how to create vibrant landscape paintings using oil pastels. We will explore the unique properties of this medium: rich colour pigments, a soft texture, effortless blending and vibrant layering. Step-by-step exercises will guide you from simple colour gradients to atmospheric compositions.

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced artists. Materials and practical tips on using the medium are included.

Course content and learning objectives:
- Learn the basics of painting with oil pastels, including how to handle and apply the medium.
- Explore colour theory and mixing to make the most of the pastels’ luminosity.
- Draw inspiration from Emil Nolde’s landscape paintings and develop your own landscape works.
- Experiment with techniques for blending and layering colours to create expressive and vibrant works.

The aim of the workshop is to create your own landscape paintings using oil pastels and to expand your creative expression. A qualified art therapist will guide you on this creative journey.
