Fallada Day at the Fallada House
A convivial afternoon of stories and music at the Falladahaus
The Falladahaus invites you to a cosy afternoon for young and old alike between 1 pm and 6 pm. The programme will include a reading for children, a literary exchange of letters and, of course, music. In between and throughout the event, there will be time to explore the house and its rooms and to chat over coffee and cake.
2.00 pm ‘Stories from the Murkelei’ by Hans Fallada. Read by Christel Ritter, Jutta Zinsmeyer and Christiane Waak
4.00 pm “When You’re Gone, Everything Is Only Half”, letters from Fallada’s marriage. Read by Roland Ulrich and Christiane Waak
6.00 pm Memorial reading in honour of Irmgard Senf (1935–2025)
The Stralsund-based authors Silke Peters and Ulrike Sebert will read poems by the author, who passed away last year; she lived in Saßnitz and was also well known in Greifswald. They will talk about their encounters with her, share the results of their research into Senf’s time in the GDR underground in Erfurt, discuss their collaboration with Gabriele Stötzer, and screen films shot by Irmgard Senf on a Super 8 camera (black and white, 1985 / *Ist das der Kopf*, 1988).
