End-of-semester evening service in the Anglican tradition, focusing on Julian of Norwich, with the University Chaplain, Prof. Dr Tobias Braune-Krickau

We would like to celebrate the final university service of this term together, following the liturgical tradition of Anglican Evensong.
Whilst it is a unique liturgical form in its own right, we will borrow individual elements and the structure of this particular form of service and supplement them with a few additional elements that are more familiar to our evening service tradition.
In this way, a completely new way of celebrating worship emerges, in which both traditions engage with one another and new perspectives arise. Both influences are also unmistakably reflected in the hymns and prayers; together with pieces performed by the Studio Choir of the Institute for Church Music and Musicology and the sermon by University Chaplain Prof. Dr. Tobias Braune-Krickau on the medieval mystic Julian of Norwich, they form a narrative arc that makes the connections and shared roots of these seemingly very different church traditions visible and tangible across the ages.

Everyone is warmly invited to this very special service; admission is, of course, free.
Afterwards, as always, there will be an opportunity to stay and socialise over a drink and engage in conversation.
