Open Holiday Workshop – An Introduction to Taxidermy

From dermoplasty to skin-lightening products – see, be amazed, get involved

The specimens that visitors can view in our museum’s exhibitions are created in our taxidermy workshop. However, a large proportion of the specimens produced here are housed in the museum’s storerooms. These collections form the basis for scientific work in a museum. In this open holiday workshop, various taxidermy techniques will be demonstrated and explained. Simple casts can be coloured in.

Meeting point: Course room next to the special exhibition ‘Otto Dibbelt’s Dream: A Natural History Museum for Stralsund’

Cost: Free admission with a valid ticket; there is a charge for materials when colouring casts

Recommended age: Families with children aged 8 and over; younger children must be accompanied by an adult

Dates:

16 July: 1 pm to 3 pm
23 July: 1 pm to 3 pm
28 July: 11 am to 1 pm
