Summer holiday workshop: ‘Beach finds’
From the beach to the museum: the OZEANEUM’s summer holiday workshop invites families with children to identify items found on the beach.
Anyone walking along the beach will come across all sorts of things: stones, shells, seaweed and sometimes even small crabs or other creatures. Unfortunately, however, shards of glass, rubbish and bits of plastic are no longer a rare sight either.
In our summer holiday workshop, we invite museum visitors to join us in exploring and identifying the most common finds from the Baltic Sea beach. We’ll have magnifying glasses and binoculars to hand, so we can take a closer look at the beach’s treasures, such as fossils.
Meeting point: In the workshop room next to the penguin enclosure
Duration: Open to all between 12 noon and 2 pm (Wednesdays and Thursdays during the summer holidays in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania)
Cost: free with a valid museum ticket
Recommended age: suitable for families, no age restriction
Further information: No booking is required. Feel free to bring along your own small beach finds.
