Village cinema in Krebsow

Somewhere in a dilapidated Italian coastal town, where the law of the jungle applies, lives the mild-mannered dog groomer Marcello (Marcello Fonte). With his salon, the slight man earns a modest living for himself and his little daughter Alida, whom he loves more than anything. However, the whole place is tyrannised by the former boxer Simoncino. Gradually, the mobster, who has just been released from prison, forces his way into Marcello's life and threatens his existence. Determined to regain his dignity, Marcello concocts a terrible plan of revenge. Marcello Fonte was awarded Best Actor in Cannes. Director: Matteo Garrone
