"The gentle jazz festival of the north" (Michael Naura) - open air, two evenings with three groups each

On the first weekend in July, jazz fans from all over Germany and beyond have been coming together for the Eldena Jazz Evenings at the Eldena monastery ruins in Greifswald since 1981. International greats and established artists from the German jazz scene as well as up-and-coming formations from Germany and abroad are presented in the midst of the symbol of German Romanticism. Enjoy two evenings with three concerts each in a special atmosphere. "The concert nights begin in the evening sun, which almost magically illuminates the brick-red walls in the concert hall open to the sky" (Heti Brunzel/NDR) and end shortly before midnight in the middle of the illuminated walls under the night sky.

The concerts also take place in the rain. Please do not put up umbrellas in the audience during the concerts - rain ponchos are available at the CD stand for €1.50 while stocks last. This way, the people behind you can also see the stage and won't get water on their knees from the umbrellas.
