Ukrainisches Adventsprogramm
St. Nicholas performance and music by the Ukrainian initiative group in Greifswald
St. Nicholas is one of the most revered saints in Ukraine. The tradition of honouring Saint Nicholas is ancient in Ukraine and dates back to the Christianization of Kyiv Rus, when Christianity came to the banks of the Dnipro. In Ukraine, he is called the miracle worker. He is the favorite saint of Ukrainian children, as he comes to them every year with small gifts.
Our play with little actors in fabulous costumes tells you one of the stories in which the children wait impatiently for the saint and worship him. Ukrainian songs will be played during the performance and the play itself is written in verse.
Today we all pray together to St. Nicholas for his protection and intercession - so that a peaceful sky may be above the heads of our children, that they may have a warm and safe bed and that their loved ones may always be close to them. Supported by the House of Resources
